What is Family Practice?

Congratulations!
You're starting on a unique adventure.  Every pregnancy, like every baby, is special.  And the Duluth Family Practice Center can help you have a better pregnancy and a healthier baby--if you start seeing your doctor as soon as you think you are pregnant.  Good prenatal care means taking good care of yourself and regular visits to your doctor and is one of the best things a mom-to-be can do for her baby.

To make your prenatal visits the most helpful, you should
Write down any questions you have before your visit.  Keep a notebook handy
and bring it with you to your appointments.
Be honest and tell your doctor everything about your medical history.  Even
little things that do not seem important can help.  The more your doctor knows,
the better it will be for you and your baby.

Describe how you're feeling as clearly as you can.
Keep your scheduled prenatal care appointments.  The goal of prenatal visits
is to see how your pregnancy is going and to provide you with information
to help keep you and your baby health.
Attend prenatal classes.
